Pet's Story or Bio
I adopted Greta, the dachshund pekingese mix from a friend, and later on adopted Kate, the Boston Terrier, to be a buddy to Greta. Kate was adopted from Friends of Homeless Animals, Rhode Island. They had rescued her from a backyard breeder, where she was neglected and unsocialized and afraid of everything. Greta was a good role model to her new sister, Kate. Greta was very calm and happy go lucky. Kate made a lot of progress in my home, and would play with her toys and hang out with Greta, and even "purred" when it was bedtime and she got to sleep next to me and Greta. Kate even enjoyed riding on my four wheeler, in a special box my husband made , as shown in the picture. We went slow and easy and this was quite an accomplishment for this shy little girl. Greta showed her how to enjoy being a dog. I will always adopt rescue dogs. Love and patience can give them a second chance at a happy home.
