Euclid Beach Cat Project (EBCP)
In 2006, a group of concerned citizens launched a grassroots effort to address the overpopulation of free-roaming, unaltered cats at the Euclid Beach Mobile Home Park in Cleveland, Ohio. Known as the Euclid Beach Mobile Home Park Project, the group secured grants from the ASPCA, Valley Save-A-Pet, and a private trust to start a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program. Through these efforts, hundreds of unsocialized and stray cats and kittens in the park received care, spay/neuter services, and brighter futures.
As the project grew, the team expanded their work into surrounding neighborhoods. In 2013, they officially became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Euclid Beach Feral Cat Project (EBFCP).
With experience came insight. By 2015, it was clear that about 90% of the cats they trapped weren’t feral—they were friendly, neglected, or abandoned pets. To reflect this shift, the organization began doing business as the Euclid Beach Cat Project (EBCP) and expanded to include foster and adoption programs alongside TNR efforts.
Today, EBCP serves cats across Northeast Ohio. We work with local veterinary clinics, animal control agencies, and other rescue partners to rescue, rehabilitate—body and soul—and rehome companion cats. For cats unable to return to their original outdoor homes but unsuitable for traditional adoption, we partner with farms, riding stables, and similar locations to place them as working cats.
We also collaborate with local pet stores to provide adoption habitats where the public can meet and adopt our cats. Dedicated volunteers visit daily to care for, enrich, and comfort the cats in these spaces. Volunteer opportunities extend beyond direct cat care, and we deeply value the contributions of everyone who joins our mission.
Mission Statement
Euclid Beach Cat Project is a 501(c)(3) non-profit volunteer group that services cats in the Euclid Beach area and across Northeast Ohio. We believe that all cats deserve a chance, from those with seemingly hopeless medical situations, to those with their spirits broken by the ones they trusted. Whether they are fostered or in community cat colonies, we work to heal not only their bodies, but their hearts as well. We provide Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) services, medical care, socialization, adoption services, and community awareness.
