A little about me...
As a tiny puppy, Maybelle was deserted at a rural VA auto garage. I had drifted in to get emergency car help. The garage was closed, but two brothers/owners came in to help me. The tiny puppy had been dropped there that morning. They had bathed her and wrapped her in a baby blanket. When my family came, the children begged to keep her. We named her Maybelle because we already had a dog named Jesse. Our family had recently read Bridge to Terabithia. In the novel Jesse's little sister is Maybelle. We agreed to foster her and look for a home or MAYBE decide to keep her. The family joke was that we would call the young hound Maybe for short. "Maybe sit!" "Maybe come!" Maybe we'll keep her! Nearly nine years later we're glad we did!
