The Everett Animal Shelter Paws & Pints Photo Contest (“the Contest”) is open to individuals who are legal residents of the United States and at least sixteen (16) years of age at the time of entry. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws.

To participate, entrants must submit a photo through the official contest website and follow all entry instructions. Winners are determined solely by the number of votes received on their entry. All votes are donations made directly through the contest platform and are final.

One grand prize winner, two runner up winners and two honorable mention winners will be announced on the contest website on or before Monday, April 20th and winners will be contacted by Everett Animal Shelter (EAS) if additional materials or photos are needed.

EAS employees may submit photos for fun but are not eligible to receive prizes with retail value.

All donations made through the Contest are considered charitable contributions to Everett Animal Shelter and may be tax‑deductible to the extent allowed by law. Entrants should consult their tax advisor for guidance.

Winners are responsible for any taxes associated with prizes. EAS reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if necessary. Prizes have no cash value and may not be exchanged.

By submitting a photo, entrants grant Everett Animal Shelter permission to use the image—including edits, reproductions, and derivative works—for marketing, promotion, and fundraising purposes in any media. Entrants retain personal rights to use their own photos.

Photos must meet the Contest’s image standards. If a winning entry does not meet the requirements listed below, EAS may request additional photos. If acceptable images are not provided by the deadline, EAS may award the prize to the next highest‑ranking entry.

To be eligible to win, photos must:

• Clearly depict the dog in a safe, humane, and positive environment
• Feature only the dog (no humans or additional animals)

This contest is limited to dogs only. Pets adopted from EAS are warmly encouraged to participate, but adoption from EAS is not required.

All photos must be submitted by the photographer who took the image. Copyrighted or professional photos may only be submitted with written permission from the copyright holder.

If a photo includes a dog not owned by the photographer, or includes people outside the photographer’s immediate household, written permission from the owner/individuals is required.

Images created or heavily altered using artificial intelligence (AI) are not permitted.

For safety and welfare reasons:

• Dogs should be wearing flat collars and ID tags
• Photos depicting animals consuming or interacting with alcohol will be disqualified
• Pet names that include offensive or inappropriate language may be edited or omitted from printed materials

If a top‑ranking entry cannot provide a photo that meets these requirements, the prize will be awarded to the next eligible contestant.
