In 2015, we found Jazz when she needed us most—a frightened, unsocialized German Shepherd rescued from a heartbreaking situation. My 10-year-old son saw her photo and knew she belonged with us, after she was transferred to PAWS. The journey wasn’t easy; Jazz had never known trust, and we worked tirelessly to help her feel safe, loved, and part of a family. Over the years, she transformed into a loyal, gentle soul. Now, at nearly 14, Jazz faces new challenges—she’s deaf and slowing down—but her spirit is unshaken. She still lights up for her daily walks, proudly “protects” her cat brothers, and follows them with unwavering devotion. Jazz is more than a survivor she’s a testament to resilience, love, and second chances.
