Welcome to the Fairfield Museum’s 11th Annual IMAGES 2019 Juried Photography Show.
We are pleased to continue celebrating the exceptional work of talented photographers in our region. The IMAGES 2019 Juried Photography Show provides an excellent opportunity for artists to connect with prominent collectors, gallery owners, fellow photographers, and the public.
The Fairfield Museum invites professional, serious amateur, and student photographers from Connecticut, New York, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts to participate.
Submissions will be accepted through midnight on Monday, January 14, 2019.
IMAGES 2019 Selection Process
A jury of three professional photographers will select approximately 40 photographs for exhibition in the IMAGES 2019 Juried Photography Show, which will be on display at the Fairfield Museum from February 28, through April 28, 2019.
During the IMAGES 2019 opening event on February 28, 2019 held at the Fairfield Museum, the jury will choose one Professional/Serious Amateur photograph as "Best in Show," and one Student photograph as "Best in Show." Honorable mentions will also be given. The Professional/Serious Amateur winner will receive their own exhibition with Southport Galleries on a date to be determined by the gallery. The Student winner will receive a professional portfolio review with Philip Trager, one of the foremost photographers of architecture and dance.
Viewer's Choice
Entirely separate from the IMAGES 2019 professional juried process, submitted photographs to the IMAGES competition may also participate in the online "Viewer's Choice" donate-to-vote competition. Participation in Viewer’s Choice is entirely voluntary (a simple option chosen during entry submission) and will in no way effect the selection of artists to exhibit or “Best in Show.” Funds generated by the Viewer’s Choice are used to offset the cost of this website.
The Viewer's Choice winner is a single photograph with the highest number of public votes. Votes are cast by making a donation ($1 = 1 vote). The winner of the Viewer's Choice voting will receive recognition at the opening of the IMAGES 2019 Juried Photography Show at the Fairfield Museum. Viewer's Choice voting ends on Monday, January 14, 2019. The Viewer's Choice voting, ranking, or winner has NO BEARING on the juried process or final selections of the IMAGES 2019 Photography Show.
