Rules

CONTEST RULES - PETS
  1. Entry fees are a suggested minimum donation of $10.00 per photo.
  2. An individual may submit more than one photo; however each entry must be of a different animal.
  3. If different photos are received of the same animal, only one photo will be considered.
  4. Photos submitted must be pets of FCRCC members; however, voting is open to everyone.
  5. Donations made in support of an animal are valued at one vote for every $1.00 donated.
  6. The thirteen (13) animals (12 months and one cover) with the most votes on 9:00:00 PM (Pacific Time) on Friday, October 20, 2023 will win the chance to be featured in the 2024 "Pets of FCRCC" calendar.
  7. By entering the contest, you will also acknowledge and give permission to FCRCC to use the name, story and photo of the animal entered in future various publications and materials, including the 2024 "Pets of FCRCC" Calendar.
  8. FCRCC reserves the right to disqualify an entry based on objectionable content or depiction of the animal or persons in a photo. The registration fee will be not be refunded.  Donations collected will be refunded if requested by the donor.

IMAGE REQUIREMENTS
  1. Photos must be high quality, taken at maximum resolution, 300 DPI, minimum 4-megapixels and in a generally accepted file format.  (Please note: most phone photos will not meet these standards.)  Photos taken with inferior resolution may not be considered.
  2. Photos submitted for the calendar must not contain human subjects and must include at least one animal, who should be present in no less than 2/3 of the frame.  Landscape format is mandatory. 
  3. Photos containing human subjects will not be considered.
  4. Please ensure that the photo is sharp and in focus with a clean background.  Blurry photos will not be considered.
  5. Pets who are shown outside:
    • Dogs in photographs taken outdoors should be shown wearing a collar and ID tag.
    • Cats in photographs taken outdoors should be shown in a safe environment (preferably in an enclosure/ catio or with a harness on) wearing an ID tag.
  6. Domestic birds, must only be shown indoors.
  7. Contest organizer is opposed to practices that prevent animals from expressing natural animal behaviours.  Photos should not feature animals performing unnatural activities; and/or including wearing costumes or excessive clothing.  Hats, scarves, doggles, life jackets are considered acceptable.

CONTEST RULES - PLACES

  3. Photos submitted must be by FCRCC members; however, voting is open to everyone.
  4. Donations made in support of a photo are valued at one vote for every $1.00 donated.
  5. The thirteen (13) scenes (12 months and one cover) with the most votes on September 30, 2023 at 8:59:59 pm PST will win the chance to be featured in the 2024 "Places we Paddle" calendar.
  6. By entering the contest, you will also acknowledge and give permission to FCRCC to use the name, story and photo of the scene entered in future various publications and materials, including the 2024 "Places we Paddle" Calendar.
  7. Photos taken of “Places we Paddle” may include but not be limited to; racing venues, boat launch areas, beaches, teams racing on the water, beautiful scenery, etc.  Examples may include, False Creek area, Stanley Park area, Jericho, Bowen Island, Gorge, exotic locations, etc., etc.  Be sure to include the participating team/individual name, name and date of race, etc. 
  8. FCRCC reserves the right to disqualify an entry based on objectionable content or depiction of any persons, teams or animals in a photo. The registration fee will be not be refunded.  Donations collected will be refunded if requested by the donor.
