A little about me...
Back in January 2014, I was a tiny puppy that got out of a house during the first snow storm of the year. My mamma was working her very first week at the First State Animal Center and SPCA, and had been cautioned by her husband not to fall in love with any animals while she worked there - there were already two rescue dogs at home - Mac and Petey. (Well, that request wouldn't last long!) I was outside in the cold for a couple of days, eating snow to stay hydrated. But then Animal Control showed up and rescued me. They took me to the First State Animal Center, where my mamma, who had always wanted a border collie, fell in love with me, and asked if she could foster me. Good thing that she did, because I got very sick from being outside for so long. She took me home, and Petey, Mac, Elliott, Olivia and Randall welcomed me with loving paws and arms. After two months of fostering, and three rounds of antibiotics (I had developed pneumonia), and Mamma, Olivia and Elliott taking turns sleeping with me to keep me warm, I fully recovered and they adopted me. To make a long story short, at my first official wellness visit, we learned that I was NOT a border collie, but a sheltie mix instead, and would not grow much more than I was then, and would probably weigh a maximum of 12 lbs. My family and all who meet me believe that I am a real sweetheart, and I am an utterly beloved member of our family. I have brought many others joy by sharing my nurturing gifts as a therapy/visitation dog. Please help us raise money for the First State Animal Shelter-SPCA by voting for me!
