In May, 2019 Governor Carney signed HB 57 which makes rescue dogs Delaware's official State dog. This is a great honor for every rescue dog in Delaware, so First State Animal Center and SPCA is teaming up with Governor Carney and Delaware Today Magazine to find the First Annual Delaware State Rescue Dog of the Year!
Does your rescue have a great story to tell? Are they just plain and simple the cutest dog ever?! Or both? Well it's easy to enter, just fill out the online registration with a photo and a short bio on how you rescued your dog and why you think your pooch would be a great ambassador for all of Delaware's rescue dogs. Then get the word out to all your friends and family to VOTE!
The contest will start at 12:00 am est Friday November 1 and end at 9 pm est on Saturday November 23 at 9:00 pm. This is a quick running contest due to deadlines for print and the Governor's busy schedule so make sure you enter early so your pup has the best opportunity to get votes!
