Rules

  1. The Charleston Area's Top Dog and Top Cat Photo Contest is open to all dog and cat owners.
  2. Photos should not be holiday themed.
  3. The Charleston Area's Top Dog and Top Cat Photo Contest benefits the Fix'Em Clinic a 501c3 non profit high volume, high quality, low cost spay and neuter clinic established in 2018 and located at 102 Dee Drive, Charleston, WV.
  4. The winners will be honored and special prizes awarded during the Charleston Sternwheel Regatta Wiener Dog Races on Magic Island on July 1, 2023 at approximately noon. Winners are invited to attend with their dogs or cats for the presentation.
  5. Photos must be submitted online and must be of a single dog or cat per photo and no humans are permitted to be included in the pictures submitted. You may submit as many photos as you like but they must be on separate submissions.
  6. Online entries must be submitted between 9:00 AM (Eastern Time) on Saturday, June 10, 2023 and 9:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Thursday, June 29, 2023.
  7. Voting begins at 9:00 AM (Eastern Time) on Saturday, June 10, 2023 and voting will end at 9:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Thursday, June 29, 2023.
  8. Votes are $1 each with a $5 minimum online donation to enter. There is a $5 entry fee per dog or cat.
  9. Donations are fully tax-deductible as permitted by law. The Fix'Em Clinic is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
  10. All photos submitted become the property of the Charleston Regional Spay Neuter Center dba Fix'Em Clinic and may be used for marketing and promotional purposes. By submitting a photo entry, you warrant and represent that your entry is your own original work created by you and that you own or otherwise control all of the rights to your entry materials. The Fix'Em Clinic reserves the right to disqualify at any time any photo it determines to be unsuitable. If you submit an entry that is copyrighted by another individual, you are responsible for any legal action the copyright holder takes against you. You agree to indemnify the Fix'Em Clinic and hold them harmless from and against any claims of any nature arising in connection with Charleston Area's Top Dog and Top Cat Photo Contest. Entrants grant the Fix'Em Clinic all rights of ownership, reproduction, and royalty-free indiscriminate use of entries and photographs for any purpose. By submitting a photo to the Charleston Area's Top Dog or Top Cat Photo Contest, the entrant agrees to give and grant to Charleston Regional Spay and Neuter Center, its employees, nominees, agents, and successors and assigns, unlimited authorization, consent, and permission to publish and use, any and all information about the animal and any and all reproductions of animal's likeness (photographic or otherwise), and with or without the use or disclosure of guardian's name.

Eligible Photographs
  • Acceptable photo formats are .jpg, .bmp, .png, and .tif
  • Photos may contain only one pet per photo.
  • Photos must:
    • be in color
    • contain only your pet (no people)
    • be horizontal (landscape) format
  • Any image that includes people, or content that is deemed inappropriate, indecent or obscene, as determined by the staff of Fix'Em Clinic, will be removed from the Photo Fundraiser.
  • Photographs may not be edited or altered (other than minor color, contrast, or sharpness adjustments)
  • Photographs must either feature pets owned by the entrant, OR the entrant must have permission from the pet's owner to submit their pet's image.

Vote For Your Favorites
You and your pet can win special prizes by having friends and family vote for your pet's photo. Once a photo is submitted, it will appear in the online gallery and be open to voting by the general public. Votes are $1 each, with a minimum $5 online donation for five votes.

  • All votes for photo submissions will be tabulated and displayed online.
  • To vote online, click on the Participate tab above. The online voting period will end at 9:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Thursday, June 29, 2023. Donate a minimum of $5 for five votes. Those votes can then be cast for any submitted photo in one-vote increments. Voters do not have to use all of the votes at the time of donation. When voters donate, they will be given the option of applying all of the votes to one photo, spreading their votes over various photos, or storing votes in their account in the contest. If a voter chooses to store the votes, voters can log in to their account using their ID and password and vote at a later time. All votes must be applied to selected photos by the conclusion of the voting period to be counted.
  • Ending time for the Photo Fundraiser will be determined by the host website's server, which will show prominently on the Photo Fundraiser website as a countdown clock on the last day of the fundraiser.
  • The photograph of the dog and cat with the most votes (donations) at the end of the submission period will win the voting portion of the Photo Fundraiser.
  • All votes are donations to the Fix'Em Clinic and are fully tax-deductible as permitted by law.
