About Friends of Fort McHenry
The Friends of Fort McHenry is the official non-profit fundraising partner for Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine.
Our mission, in partnership with the National Park Service (NPS), is to support the development and implementation of educational programming and living history activities, and the creation of interpretive exhibits and visitor facilities that best engender the widest possible understanding and appreciation of Fort McHenry and the enduring legacy and promise of “The Star-Spangled Banner,” our National Anthem.
The Friends of Fort McHenry provide employment opportunities in historic interpretation through the Fort McHenry Youth Employment Corps, in partnership with the NPS. We serve as a bridge between the Fort, the NPS, and the community. We strive to better connect the community and other partners to the resource and important historical context through programing and events. We are focused on making sure ALL members of the Baltimore community have access to the site, through inclusive arts programs, paddle programs aimed at youth in disadvantaged communities, and other activities.
