Sophie (previously Phyllis) almost didn’t survive when she arrived at GABR. She was heartworm positive, had a skin infection, eye infection, needed a tummy tuck from being overbred, needed a hernia repair and some teeth pulled. Despite the challenges, Sophie remained sweet and happy during her 6 months of medical care. GABR recognized Sophie's story of survival and named her the 2023 GABR waddle queen! After she received her crown (as a sweet senior basset age 8), she came to the upper peninsula of Michigan to her forever home. She loves to roam in her 5 acre fenced in back yard, enjoys long naps in bed, and going on car rides. She is loved beyond measure and lives the BEST life! She is SO happy!
