Enter your favorite photo of your hound or hounds to win one of 13 coveted spots in the 2015 GGBR Calendar.  The top vote earner will be on the cover of the calendar! 

This contest is open to anyone.  Your photo entry does not have to be of a GGBR rescue. We love all basset hounds and welcome entries from all basset hound owners as long as you have the right to upload the photo.  However, to win a prize you must be able to bring your dog to a photo shoot to be held in the Bay Area (and possibly Sacramento area, depending on the location of the winners) of Northern California.  For this reason, we cannot accept photos of hounds who have already passed (but do consider buying a date for them instead!).  If you wish to enter, but know you cannot travel to a photo shoot, we welcome your entry for the purpose of raising funds.  If you are one of the top 13 vote-getters please tell us as soon as you can, so we can move to the next top vote-getter.

We encourage you to share your entry and encourage others to vote, vote, vote!

There is no charge to enter this competition.  You must submit a photo of your dog(s) and include:

• Name of Dog(s)
• Your Name
• Your City and State
• A paragraph that tells voters something fun or interesting about the dog in the photo. Is this a Golden Gate Basset Rescue dog?  If so, how long has he or she been a part of your family?  Can you share something special that we could include on our calendar if your photo wins?

All photos must be uploaded. Sorry, we cannot accept hard copies.

Each vote will be $1. Each $1 donation counts as a vote for that photo.

The contest starts at 8:00 am PDT on June 1, 2014.  Deadline for photo submissions is at 8:00 pm PDT on June 23, 2014 and voting ends at 8:00 PM PDT on June 30, 2014.

There are 13 spots available to win, one for each month, and the calendar cover.

Golden Gate Basset Rescue is a 501(c)(3) organization. Donations are tax deductible.  All donations are non-refundable.

This Calendar Photo Contest (the Contest) is open to residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are at least thirteen (13) years old at the time of entry. The Contest is subject to federal, state, and local laws and regulations. 

Participation in the Contest constitutes entrants full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of the Board of Golden Gate Basset Rescue (GGBR), which are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon being compliant with these Official Rules and fulfilling all other requirements set forth herein. 

The Contest begins on June 1, 2014 at 8:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time and voting ends on June 30, 2014 at 8:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time (the Contest Period). Entries that are submitted before or after the Contest Period will be disqualified. Photo submissions will be accepted until June 23, 2014 at 8:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time using the following method: Online submissions via this website.

The same pet can be entered into the contest multiple times, but votes will not be combined across multiple entries of the same pet. The same basset hound cannot appear on more than the cover or a calendar month. That is, an individual basset hound can only appear once in the calendar (unless you purchase a specific day for your hound in addition to a contest entry).  You can enter more than one pet in the contest. Any entrant with people in the image will be asked to provide an alternative image or be disqualified from the contest.   

The Board of GGBR will announce the 13 top vote-getters at the Waddle on 4^th of July, 2014 in Novato, CA.  If any winner is not present at the Waddle Picnic, the Board of GGBR will attempt to notify them via email on or about July 5, 2014.  If the potential winners do not respond to such notification within five (5) days after the date of the first attempt to contact him/her, the Board of GGBR may select an alternate potential winner in his/her place from the next non-winning, eligible top vote-getter.  If any top vote-getter cannot comply with the conditions of the contest (e.g. cannot attend a photo shoot held at various locations in the Bay Area, and possibly at other locations dependent on the home location of the winning hounds) the opportunity will be passed on to the next top vote-getter.

Grand Prize (1) - The entrant with the most votes will have their photo shoot image featured on the cover of the GGBR Calendar 2015.

First Place Prize (12) – The 12 entrants with the next highest number of votes will appear in a month of the GGBR Calendar 2015.  Preferences for months will be considered, but the Board of GGBR reserve the right to make the final decision on allocation of months to individual dogs.

Conditional Prize (open to any entrant) - If your entry receives more than 100 votes you will receive one free copy of the GGBR Calendar 2015. The calendars will be unveiled and sold at the Howl at the Moon Annual Auction and Dinner, to be held on October 4, 2014, at Swiss Park Newark, CA, and after that date will be available via the Basset Boutique online store on our website.

Please note:  If the photo of the online contest winner is of multiple dogs, you may bring all or some of those dogs to the photo shoot, but the Board of GGBR will/may decide to choose a photo of a single dog for the calendar.  Also, images taken at the photo shoot become the property of GGBR, to use as their Board sees fit.  It may be possible to obtain those images from GGBR after publication of the calendar.

General Conditions

In the event that the operation, security, or administration of the Contest is impaired in any way for any reason, including, but not limited to fraud, virus, bug, worm, unauthorized human intervention or other technical problem, or in the event the Contest is unable to run as planned for any other reason, as determined by the Board of GGBR in its sole discretion, the Board may, in its sole discretion, either (a) suspend the Contest to address the impairment and then resume the contest in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules or (b) terminate the contest and, in the event of termination, award the prize at random from among the eligible, non-suspect entries received up to the time of the impairment. The Board of GGBR reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to damage the website or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, the Board of GGBR reserves the right to seek damages (including attorneys fees) and any other remedies from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Failure by the Sponsor to enforce any provision of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. 

By participating in the Contest, entrants agree to release and hold harmless the Board of GGBR, and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, other companies associated with the contest, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, shareholders, representatives, and agents (the Released Parties) from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use of the prize (including any travel or activity related thereto), including, but not limited to: (a) any technical errors associated with the Contest, including lost, interrupted or unavailable Internet Service Provider (ISP), network, server, wireless service provider, or other connections, availability or accessibility or miscommunications or failed computer, satellite, telephone, cellular tower or cable transmissions, lines, or technical failure or jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions or computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties; (b) unauthorized human intervention in the Contest; (c) mechanical, network, electronic, computer, human, printing or typographical errors; (d)application downloads, (e) any other errors or problems in connection with the Contest, including, without limitation, errors that may occur in the administration of the Contest, the announcement of the winner, the cancellation or postponement of the event and/or the flyover, if applicable, the incorrect downloading of the application the processing of entries application downloads or in any Contest-related materials; or (f) injury, death, losses or damages of any kind, to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrants participation in the contest or acceptance, receipt or misuse of the prize (including any travel or activity related thereto). Entrant further agrees that in any cause of action, the Released Parties liability will be limited to the cost of entering and participating in the Contest, and in no event shall the entrant be entitled to receive attorneys fees. Released Parties are also not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by site users, tampering, hacking, or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest. Entrant waives the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages. 

Except where prohibited, each entrant agrees that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the contest or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court located in California. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, entrants rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of the Sponsor in connection with the contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of California, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules, which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than California. 

Information collected from entrants is subject to the Board of GGBR’s privacy policy.
