Maverick, a tiny Cavalier King Charles, was surrendered by a breeder at a month old, just 2.3 pounds. One of the smallest pups ever taken in by Great Plains, he arrived fragile and in need of a family.

When we met him, we fell in love. We knew instantly he was meant to be part of our family. Wrapped in blankets and nestled in our arms, Maverick began his journey with us.

With time, patience, and lots of snuggles, he blossomed. The shy puppy grew into a confident, mischievous little shadow…always underfoot, always up to something, and always stealing hearts.

Today, Maverick is thriving. He may have started small, but his spirit has always been larger than life. From a surrendered newborn to our bold little explorer, he’s proof that love truly transforms.
