Contest Period
Photo submissions and voting will be open June 1 through June 30, 2022 at noon (Hawaii–Aleutian Standard Time).
Eligibility
Hawaiian Humane Society staff and winners within the last five (5) years are eligible to enter but are ineligible to win grand prizes. Your pet does NOT have to be adopted from the Hawaiian Humane Society to be eligible to enter this contest.
Entering
Entrants may enter as many photos as they would like for a $25 donation per entry. Entries must be submitted online by noon HST on June 30, 2022. If your photo does not meet the below photo guidelines, you risk forfeiting your photo being in the printed calendar. If your pet wins the Pet of the Month feature, but your photo is not high enough quality, we will ask you for a new photo.
Photo Guidelines- No people, just pets.
- Photos of cats, dogs, horses, small mammals, reptiles, and birds are excepted.
- Your pet does NOT have to be adopted from the Hawaiian Humane Society to be eligible to enter this contest.
- Photos may contain more than one pet.
- Enter as many photos as you want. *Votes cannot be combined if you submit multiple photos of the same pet.
- Photo must be available in a high-resolution file, at least 1280 pixels wide and 1 megabyte in size.
- Must be in a landscape (horizontal) format.
Voting
There is a minimum of five (5) votes at the time of voting. Pets will receive one vote for every $1 donated to their picture. Votes that are purchased after the voting deadline of June 30, 2022 at noon (Hawaii–Aleutian Standard Time) cannot be applied and are non-refundable. Use the "share" button on your pet's public page to share your entry through Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking sites. You may also email links to family and friends to encourage voting for your pet's photo.
The Hawaiian Humane Society is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Each donation supports the over 30 programs the Hawaiian Humane Society provides for the community and its animals. All donations are non-refundable. Please save the transaction email for your tax records.
Warranties and Grant of Rights in Connection With the Contest
When you enter the Pets in Paradise™ Calendar Contest, you warrant that the photograph is original, you are the sole owner and copyright holder of the photograph, and you have not granted exclusive rights of the photograph to any other person or entity. With regard to any image or content submitted, you agree to grant the Hawaiian Humane Society the right and permission to use, modify, adapt, reproduce, publish, and distribute the photograph. Once entered, photos become the property of the Hawaiian Humane Society to be used for print and marketing purposes. Any inappropriate images submitted will be removed immediately with no opportunity for a refund.
