Rules

Contest Rules & Regulations:
  1. Anyone can register for the contest ($10 registration fee) and submit a photo of their pet.
  2. Photo should be current (within the last year) and the pet must be alive and able to have a photo taken by Tracy from Take Ur Pic Photography between June 15-30, 2022.
  3. One (1) photo per pet may be submitted. Multiple pets can be entered, but each requires their own registration.
  4. Entries can only be submitted via the official contest website and will not be accepted via email, social media, or mail.
  5. Each vote costs $1, and a minimum of five (5) votes must be purchased at a time.
  6. You can vote for your own photo, however you will not receive a charitable tax receipt for your votes/donations should you win one of six winning spots.
  7. Voting period commences at 7:00:00 AM (Eastern Time) on Monday, June 6, 2022, and concludes at 7:00:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Tuesday, June 14, 2022.
  8. Six (6) winners will be determined by the highest # of votes received by 7:00:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Tuesday, June 14, 2022.
  9. Top six (6) entries with the most votes will receive a photoshoot to obtain one (1) photo that will be featured on a 2022 HBSPCA greeting card.
  10. Complimentary photos from the shoot (excluding the chosen photo) will be emailed to the winner within 30 days after the session.
  11. The winning contest photo will appear on the back of the greeting card along with a small bio of the pet featured on the front.
  12. Winners will be contacted via email or phone. If no response is received within 48 hours of initial contact, the HBSPCA reserves the right to move on to the next runner up.
  13. If the winner cannot be available for photos with the photographer during the specified timeframe, the HBSPCA reserves the right to choose another winner.
  14. Entries must include the pet's name, age, and a few sentences about the pet.
  15. By submitting a photo, you agree and give permission to the HBSPCA to use the name, story & photo of the animal entered in various publications & materials, including a 2022 HBSPCA greeting card.
  16. The HBSPCA reserves the right to disqualify an entry based on objectionable content or depiction of the animal or persons in a photo. The registration fee will not be refunded.
  17. HBSPCA staff, board members and volunteers are eligible to enter and vote.
  18. The HBSPCA does not determine the winners. Winners are based on the highest number of votes received by the stated deadline.
  19. Official tax receipts will not be issued for the Registration/Submission ($10) fee, or for any votes provided by a winning participant.
  20. Charitable tax receipts will be issued and mailed to the address submitted for participants/voters that contribute a total of $20+ and are not one of six winners.

Image Requirements
  1. Photos must be high quality, taken at maximum resolution, 300 DPI, minimum file size of 4mb (megabytes) in size and in a generally accepted file format.

    Please note: most phone photos will not meet these standards. If submitting a phone photo, please ensure that your image is captured at the highest possible resolution setting. Only digital photos can be accepted, and polaroid's or print photos cannot be accepted.

  2. Submitted photos must include one (1) animal who is the focus of the photo.
  3. No identifying images of people, places or brands are permitted.
