  2. There can be multiple animals in the photo, so long as at least one (1) of the animals is a rescued pet.
  3. Photos must be in landscape format.
  4. No identifying images of people are permitted to be in the photos.
  5. Please ensure that the photo is sharp and in focus with a clean background.
  6. Photos taken by professional photographers must have the written permission of the photographer to have the photo reproduced in the calendar.
  7. Photos must be high quality, taken at maximum resolution, in a generally accepted file format. Please note: some phone photos will not meet these standards. 8. If your photo wins and is not of sufficient print quality, a representative of the HBSPCA will reach out for a high res photo. If a print quality photo is not provided by the entrant, the HBSPCA reserves the right to move on to the next runner up.
  9. Pets should appear as follows:
    • If cats or small animals are in photographs taken outdoors, they must be shown in a safe environment (an enclosure or catio or with a harness on).

    • Domestic birds must only be shown indoors.
  10. The Hamilton/Burlington SPCA adheres to the 5 Freedoms of Animal Welfare and is opposed to practices that prevent animals from expressing natural animal behaviours. Photos should feature comfortable, happy and safe animals. The Hamilton/Burlington SPCA reserves the right to disqualify photos with objectionable content.
