I came in like a wrecking ballllll," plays in the distance as this Queen enters the room. When Benni, my fluff angel and first Bunny passed, I knew that Brew needed another companion. After about a month, I prayed for the right baby to find us. I needed a female, already spayed and sociable. One evening I laid down to take a nap and remember waking up with a very clear vision of a Holland lop female "honey" Bunny with some darker features around her ears and face. I saw her like she was already with me that day. So I continued the search and within a few weeks saw her picture on social media. It was her! It was her! So I contacted the poster only to find out her name is Winnie (rhymes with Benni). If that isn't affirmation, then I don't know what is!💫💜
Since she was in Augusta, GA, we went for a drive, not knowing if Winnie and Brew would cohabitate happily. After just a day of being home with us, Brew snuck over to Winnie's room. It was like the cartoon with hearts in his eyes. It was love at first sight, for Brew atleast. Winnie wasn't sure yet, because she had never been around another bunny other than when she was just a baby. Fast forward just a month into having Winnie in our lives, she stopped eating. After several days at the Vet trying to avoid surgery due to a softball size blockage in her stomach, we went through an emergency exploratory surgery with the likelihood of survival at just 10%. Winnie defeated the odds. Months of recovery and therapies, her HUGE personality began to shine. She was a survivor, but also the Quuen of this Queendom that I call home. Winnie is a mixture of sass, sweetness, adventure and a little wild flower. She gets into everything and if upset, let's me know by leaving surprises across the house in the form of golden nuggets. She knows the sound of the fridge when it opens and will be in it before you can shut the door. She is my built in alarm clock that enjoys Nascar laps on the bed. We've been through alot in a short time with both of our ongoing health issues, but this little mirror of mine, has been one of the most joyous additions to my life and worth every penny spent.
