Benni is my first soul fluff. He came home with me as a family member was simply going to release him into the wild because he was "mean." For the first time in his life, Benni was no longer shoved in a cage, but had the run of the house. He quickly became litter trained and fell in love with his delivery of fresh greens every morning. As a 1lb 13oz Netherland Dwarf mix, Benni was an angry elf. He would lunge and growl when I rearranged (cleaned) his corner of the house, but how can you even be scared of that tiny little fluffy squirrel? Her fluff skirt prevailed her as she learned that it is vital that she get her exercise every morning-zipping and binkying like a professional Olympian. Benni was a solo child for about a year. Then came Brew.

When Brew entered our lives it became time for neutering. Upon the visit to the Vet, we found out critical info on Benni. Benni was in fact a GIRL! After our now Girl and Boy got fixed, they bonded very quickly. Benni was only an angry elf toward us humans, but not to Brew. She was the perfect mix of sass and sweetness with her heart shaped nose. Those sneaky little toenail taps on the hardwoods still to this day make me laugh. Though she would get into whatever she could, my fondest reminder of her are the moments I would catch her and Brew cuddled side by side, her fluff skirt in the air, and swapping licks for cleaning. She loved her Brew, and he loved her! Sadly, we lost Benni in 2020, but she forever holds a very special place in our hearts.
