In terms of fundraising, the last 16 months have been more challenging than ever. That is why we are incredibly grateful to all of you who help us with donations (large or small), sponsorships and purchases from our online shop.

As you would imagine, feeding over 120 hungry equines as well as other sanctuary residents is no joke, but we still like to have some fun.

The winter feed bill is the biggest item in our budget, and winters sure are long in Western Victoria! So please, warm our hearts and help fill some tummies at the same time. Every $ raised makes a difference, for example $2.35 feeds an average donkey in good health for a day and $4 will feed a foal. All proceeds from this promotion go straight to help pay the winter feed bill

• There are 4 categories for you to choose from - Equines (horses, ponies and donkeys), Dogs, Cats and Other Companion animals. If you love them, we want to see them.
• Upload a photo in your chosen category, fill in the details and write a short description telling folks why they should vote for you. Share your pet's quirks, make readers laugh and cry.
• The competition starts 8am on June 5 and runs until 8pm on June 27. The sooner you enter, the longer you have to collect votes.
• Get the voting started by sharing to your socials, and convincing friends and family to support your entry. Votes are just $1 each and you can vote as often as you like. You can vote for yourself as well - go for it we say!

Aside from the opportunity to highlight your favourite family members and the joy of making a difference, the submission with the most votes will win a gorgeous piece of art, a pet portrait of your very own pet / animal, by up-and-coming, Melbourne-based artist, Sarah Grundy.  Another Sarah Grundy portrait is awarded as a JUDGES Prize - this is not dependent on votes.
