Rules

Our contest is open to everyone and free to enter. All submissions must feature animals or pets owned by the entrant. Alternatively, the entrant must have written permission from the owner to submit their animal or pet's image.

The submission and voting period begins at 8 am on 5 June 2021 and ends at 8 pm on 27 June 2021.


Please complete all fields. You have the option of sharing a little bit about your entry (maximum 125 words) to tell voters something fun or interesting about your animal, why you love them, what makes them special?

1. Equines (horses, ponies and donkeys)
2. Dogs
3. Cats
4. Other companion animals. If you love them, we want to see a photo of them

You are welcome to enter as many times as you'd like, and your animal need not be a rescue or shelter animal to qualify.

All animals must be depicted in a humane, safe and dignified manner.

• We recommend uploading photos from your phone or camera, using the original size for high resolution. For best results, photos should be in full colour, and not heavily filtered, edited or altered
• Acceptable picture formats are .jpg, .png and .gif
• Photos must be of companion animals only (no people please!)
• Once a photo is submitted, it will appear in the online gallery and will be open to voting by the public.
• All entries are subject to review, editing and removal by Horse Shepherd Equine Sanctuary (if deemed offensive, indecent or obscene).
• Once entered, you permit Horse Shepherd Equine Sanctuary to use the entries for online, print and marketing purposes.
• By submitting a photo entry, you warrant and represent that your entry is your own original work and that you own, or otherwise, control all the rights to your entry materials. If you submit an entry that is copyrighted by another individual, you are responsible for any legal action the copyright holder takes against you.

• The overall winners and category winners will be determined by electronic vote tabulations under the supervision of Gogo Photo Contest.
• Each $1 donation vote counts as a vote for that photo.
• You may absolutely vote for your own photo, go for it.
• If you are submitting votes close to the deadline, please keep in mind that processing time is necessary to register votes. We recommend using the 'vote bank' to ensure you are not thrown off by time required for credit card processing. It is best not to wait until the last 30 minutes of the contest to submit a large number of votes.
• Winners will be announced on Facebook on June 28, 2021. Winners will be contacted by phone or email by the first week of July.
• Horse Shepherd team members are encouraged to enter and raise funds, but will not be eligible to win a prize.

• We may announce mini-contests via our Facebook page.
• The entry receiving the highest number of new votes over the selected time period, will win a mini-contest prize from one of the participating businesses.
• Each entry may only win a weekly mini-contest once.
• In the event of a tie, a random computerised draw will be held between the highest vote getters of the week to determine that week's winner.

• Use the social media links within the contest to promote your pet to your friends and family and encourage them to share on their pages. Remember, the more people who know about your entry the more likely you are to win.
• You can collect cash donations to vote for your pet from friends, family, and acquaintances, then simply apply the amounts yourself, using your own login information and credit card.
• Remind people that every vote is a donation to Horse Shepherd Equine Sanctuary. As a volunteer led and run organisation, all proceeds go directly to support the sanctuary animals
