Otis is smart, stubborn, resourceful , loyal , vigilant, a superb under the covers cuddled like a canine hot water bottle. He welcomed and helped raise two little boys and accompanied them to visit local firehouses and meet firefighters. Otis always waits for his humans to come home by the door and patrols the house throughout the day.
Otis has evacuated from two fires, notably The Thomas Fire. He was alert, calm, cooperative and never lost sight of his humans. He has lived in the rebuilt Ondulando neighborhood in a house built and landscaped on completely scorched hillside land. It was built using all the latest fire prevention materials and standards. The yard is mostly succulents that melt versus trees and plants that combust. Otis is a member of the fire awareness neighborhood group and a leader in his compliance, readiness and vigilance with all new standards an advice as it becomes available. Otis is a good boy, a no nonsense boy , much loved and world’s greatest doxie. This recognition would be a fitting capstone to a life well lived
