Rules

Submissions will be open beginning on September 15th, 2017 at 8:00 AM EST, and close on October 5th, 2017 at 8:00 PM EST
Free to enter and no limit to the number of submissions one person may make
Once a photo is submitted, it will appear in the online gallery and will be open to voting by the public during the voting period
The same pet can be entered into the contest multiple times, but votes will not be combined across multiple entries of the same pet. Each photo earns votes separately
Once entered, photos and stories may be used for digital promotion purposes by HeARTs Speak
Please include the name of the pet(s) included in the image (and people, if applicable) with the entry
Photos must either feature pets owned by the entrant, OR the entrant must have permission from the pet's owner to submit their pet's image
We reserve the right to decline publication of any photograph for any reason

Image Requirements:

Image must feature an animal who is currently adoptable, was adoptable, or has been adopted
Images may feature animal(s) of any companion species, including but not limited to dogs, cats, rabbits, guide pigs, rats, mice, birds, ferrets, horses, fish, and reptiles
Images may include people
Please have the appropriate releases available for animals and any people featured in an image
Images may not contain overlaid copy or watermarks
Please ensure that the photo is sharp and in focus with a clean background
Submissions must be of a high resolution (ideally 300dpi), in a generally accepted file format such as jpeg or png, and portrait, landscape, or square format. Note that most cell phone photos will not be of a high enough resolution.
Images not suitably sized for a full-page spread may share a page layout with other images

Online Voting:

Voting by the general public is available for a $1 donation per vote and can be in any whole dollar amount
We encourage you to email the contest link to family and friends and encourage them to vote
Persons may submit as many votes for as many photos as they wish
All votes will be periodically tabulated and displayed on the contest website. There may be a temporary delay in displaying the most recent tabulations.
Voting begins on September 15th, 2017 at 8:00 AM EST and ends on October 5th, 2017 at 8:00 PM EST
Winners will be announced via social media on October 6th and contacted directly
