How we met
Both dogs were rescues from HSCC.
Frankie was a 2020 COVID puppy. That year, we lost 2 dogs within 5 weeks of each. Our dog, Jack died of Cancer and then, unexpectedly, 5 weeks later our dog, Gracie, passed from a heart attack.
Heartbroken and with so many disappointments from the year so far, we found Frankie needed a home.
From the first second we met him, we fell in love with his sweet personality and he instantly became a part of our family.
2 years later, we saw a video introduction of Luna on the HSCC Facebook page, and I felt drawn to her. She was 3.5 years old. From the moment we introduced her to Frankie, they became bonded.
Today, they play all day, nap together and are a joy to have around.
We are so happy we rescued these 2 dogs, because they rescued us right back.
What is the best trick your pet has taught you?
The best trick our dogs have taught us is how to be more patient. When you bring home rescues and you are told they are housebroken, they usually have a set-back and have lots of accidents. Taking time to help them adjust is most important.
Becoming more patient and allowing them time to acclimate, is rewarded by the most grateful pups.
What is the strangest thing about your pet
The strangest thing about Frankie is he loves all sorts of fruits and vegetables. From carrots, celery, broccoli, to blueberries, strawberries and apple cores… he loves them all.
Luna is very attached and won’t leave the property. A few times, the dogs broke out of the fenced yard, and while frantically searching for them, I found her at the back door waiting for ME to let her in. LOL She crawled back through the hole while we were all looking for her.
Does your pet have a favorite toy or activity?
Both of them love their Kong toys with treats inside.
