How has your dog impacted your life or the lives of others?
Kailo came to us after a friend shared his story on Facebook, he was 7 at the time. Kailo's previous owner was diagnosed with ALS and was unable to care for a 175lb Great Dane. My husband and I already had a very senior lab so we were familiar with the special needs of an older dog. Kailo was transported to us by the rescue supporting his re-homing. I was in shock of his size when he jumped out of the SUV! Kailo has had his own medical battles since his arrival. He was diagnosed with Lupus and suffers from severe arthritis. Aside from being a grumpy old man, he plays with his 1yr old adopted rescue sibling, also a Merle Dane. These two "talk" all day long! Starting over with a new family at a senior age is hard but Kailo has shown us patience and true love. Even 175lb dogs need a good lap to sit on and someone to assure them they are loved.
