Your pet can be a star! The 2027 Happy Tails Calendar Contest raises funds for our vital services including shelter for lost and stray animals, adoption, and lifesaving veterinary care.

Your entry includes a free copy of the 2027 calendar that will be mailed to you in the fall of 2026.
How many votes do I need to have my pet featured on a month spread in the calendar?
- The #1 top vote-getter will be featured on the cover of the calendar.
- The #1 vote-getter from each category (Dogs, Cats and Other Pets) will win a featured month spread in the 2027 calendar.
- The top 12 pets that meet eligibility requirements will be considered for month spreads in the 2027 calendar.
- Pro tip: High-resolution photos (300 dpi or greater) in landscape (horizontal) format have the best chance of winning a month spread.

All submitted photos will be reviewed by HSSW, and selections for the calendar and promotional materials will be made based on image quality, composition, and overall fit.
The grand prize winner will be invited to participate in a professional photo session to ensure their featured image meets campaign needs.
- Photos of non-wildlife companion animals accepted. This may include dogs, cats, and small pets.
- Your pet does NOT have to be adopted from Humane Society for Southwest Washington or live in Southwest Washington to be eligible to enter the contest.
- Photos may contain more than one pet.
- Photos must be high-resolution (300 dpi or greater) and be in landscape (horizontal) format to be considered for a month spread in the calendar.
- Photos must only contain domestic pets (no people or wildlife).
- Photos must be full-color and not heavily filtered, edited or altered.
- Photos with professional photographer watermarks will not be eligible to be included in the calendar.
- Photos deemed offensive, indecent or obscene will be removed from the contest.
- Photos must receive at least 5 votes to be considered for inclusion in the 2027 calendar.
- All online photo entries must be submitted by 8:00 PM (Pacific Time) on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
- All photos submitted become the property of the Humane Society for Southwest Washington.
- $1 Counts as 1 Vote. There is a 5 Vote Minimum.
