How many photos can I enter?
It's FREE! You can enter as many as you want!


How do I vote for a pet's picture?
Votes are $1 each, with a minimum donation of $5 for five votes.  All votes are tax-deductible.  You can vote online, via mail or in-person.  Keep and eye out for entry and voting promotions throughout the contest.


How to vote by mail:
Make your check payable to JCAPS. Include a note with the check stating the pet's name and owner's name, and that you wish to apply your donation toward votes for them in the Pet Photo Contest. Please also include your phone number in case we have any questions.

  • Mail-in or in-person votes must be received by 5:00 p.m. CST on March 5, 2021.
  • Votes sent by mail will be manually tracked by Alisha Weland and announced on our Facebook page.

Can I vote for my own pet's picture?
Yes, you can vote for your own pet's photo! We actually encourage you to vote as many times as you and your friends and family want throughout the month!
All proceeds from votes will help us provide shelter and care for the homeless animals.


How many votes do I need to have my pet featured on a certain month?
The pet with the most overall votes will get to pick which month they are featured. To ensure your pet gets the most votes, it is important to check the leaderboard and Facebook page regularly.


When does voting close?
Voting closes on March 5, 2021 at 5 p.m.


How do I know if I won?
The 12 winners will be announced via email and on our Facebook page. You can also check the leaderboards to see how well your pet is doing. Remember, only the top 12 pets will be the models for our artist showcases in the calendar.


Will my pet still be in the calendar if I do not make it into the top 12?
There is still a chance your pet may be featured in a collage page within the calendar.  There is also the option of having your pet placed on a particular day of the month within the calendar for a $5 donation.


When will I get my calendar?
Pre-orders will be taken during this contest, via our website or through Facebook message.  We will mail or hand deliver calendars to our winners in December 2021.


I love painting pets! How do I become an Artist for the Calendar?
This can be done by contacting Alisha Weland for more details.


Can I get my pet painted if I don't get into the top 12?
Some of the artists involved with this contest do offer commissioned artworks.  If this is something you are interested in, please contact Alisha Weland to work out the details.
