About two years ago, Maurice’s owner dropped him off at the shelter with the promise that he would return for him when he straightened out his life. Maurice waited patiently for several months but sadly his owner never returned. He was a senior dog who walked with a limp and tested positive for heart worms so he was overlooked by potential adopters many times. Then one day Maurice’s luck changed! He went to a foster home and eventually he was adopted. Maurice passed away last winter but he spent the last year of his life with a family who truly loved him and said he was such a beautiful soul. Thank you to everybody who helped Maurice and who help other dogs like Maurice. Many thanks to KARE and Dr. Liz who provides medical assistance to Lytle Shelter for special cases for dogs in need like Maurice.
