Dog's Story
Rugby was born to a stray in Mississippi. We don't know much about his early days. He was then transported by a rescue to Massachusetts where I adopted him on April 9, 2019 and he became my instant best friend. I always joked that he loved people, places, and things because he was the kindest, most fun loving, friendliest, beautiful soul I had ever met. He travelled all up and down the East Coast with me, hiking, boating, eating French fries at restaurants, and making friends with everyone he met along the way. He moved down to Louisiana with me in August, 2020, right before we had to evacuate together for Hurricane Laura, but nothing seemed so bad when Rugby was around. In July of 2021, Rugby was diagnosed with a rare bone marrow disorder that there is no known treatment for. He passed away on August 4, 2021. He was only about two years old. We miss him and love him every single day. We love the work that Lake Charles Pitbull Rescue is doing - saving lost dogs like our little Rugby was once.
