We found Kukui through Kaua’i Humane Society’s Field Trip Program in June 2025. Adopting another dog wasn’t on our bingo card, but the minute I saw his face, I knew we had to bring him home to Oahu! Seven months and (11 pounds!) later, our sweet boy loves dental chews, roughhousing
with friendly dogs at the park, playing tug-of-war with his Golden Retriever sister Lola, and cuddling up between mom and dad every night for bed. Even the cats have started to warm up to him: he loves to groom and play with Puck the orange tomcat, and his eldest sister, Rey the void, has started walking closer to him. She’ll even push her food bowl to him when she’s finished! We’re so happy to have Kui in our lives, and have started getting him used to coats and booties for when we move to Alaska this summer!
