Your Pet's Story or Bio
Melemele was adopted by Pam Burns when she was CEO of the Hawaiian Humane Society in the spring of 2015. When Pam passed that fall her husband promised to take care of her pets forever. Those animals were kings and queens of the manor! In 2024 husband asked me to take care of Pam's remaining cat, Melemele, while he had a month hospital stay. Mele loved exploring the vast garden, in harness, was super sweet and affectionate. In 2025 husband asked if I would come again to care for Mele while he was in home care. He gave husband a lot of love and attention, always lifting the patient's mood. After 4 months Melemele and I were quite bonded, finishing each other's sentences and such. Husband didn't want to lose him, but grudgingly thought it best if Mele would fly home to California with me. He's adjusted well, I'm retired so we spend a lot of time together. When I'm out I can't wait to get back home to that adorable meow. Now to teach him some hula so not to forget his Hawaiian roots!
