Welcome to the LOVEPAWS 2nd Annual Calendar Contest!
Show off your favorite furry family member while helping homeless pets get the second chance they deserve. Every photo entry, every vote, and every donation directly supports the lifesaving work of LOVEPAWS.
Founded in 2019, LOVEPAWS is a 100% volunteer-run, foster-based animal rescue serving Prince George's and Montgomery Counties, Maryland, and the greater DMV. What began as a shelter intake prevention program has grown into a rescue dedicated to keeping pets with their families whenever possible, supporting community cats, and saving at-risk dogs and cats from overcrowded shelters. Through its pet pantry, medical assistance, rehoming services, foster program, and rescue efforts, LOVEPAWS helps hundreds of animals each year while giving hope to both pets and the people who love them.
Today, animal shelters across the country are facing an unprecedented overcrowding crisis. More animals are entering shelters than are leaving them, while rescues are stretched beyond capacity trying to save as many lives as possible. Every foster home, every adoption, and every donation makes a difference.
At the same time, the cost of veterinary care, emergency surgeries, medications, vaccinations, and everyday supplies has risen dramatically. Treating a single injured or sick animal can cost thousands of dollars, making fundraising more important than ever. For volunteer-run rescues like LOVEPAWS, community support is what makes lifesaving possible.
By participating in this calendar contest, you're doing more than celebrating your rescue pet—you are helping provide food, medical care, shelter, and hope for animals with nowhere else to turn.

Participation:
Enter your pet in the contest by submitting a photograph with a $20 donation. Share the link with your family and friends to gather votes. Each vote is $1. Contest entries MUST be rescued pets (they do not have to be a LOVEPAWS alumni and can be rescued from any shelter or rescue org).
Calendar Prizes
The top 12 photos will be featured in the calendar. The top winner will be the cover model AND be the featured photo for a month. The remaining 11 photos will be the featured photo for each month. All winning entrants will each receive a free calendar. The top 3 winners will also receive a LOVEPAWS t-shirt.
Additionally, all photo entries that receive over 300 votes will receive a free calendar.

Rules
Your pet needs to be adopted from a rescue or shelter in order to submit a photo for the contest.
The top 12 photos will be featured in the calendar. The top winner will be the cover model AND be the featured photo for a month. The remaining 11 photos will be the featured photo for each month. All winning entrants will each receive a free calendar. The top 3 winners will receive a LOVEPAWS t-shirt.
Additionally, all photo entries that receive over 300 votes will receive a free calendar.
Entry fee is $20 and includes 20 votes. Each additional vote equals $1.
If you have reserved a day and your photo also ends up in the top 12, we will contact you for a 2nd photo as your reserved day.
Eligible Photographs
- Photos should only feature the pet being entered in the contest. Do not share photos with multiple animals or people in the photo.
- Please make sure your photo is in good lighting, with no red eye, etc. They must be high resolution for printing purposes.
- If your photo was taken by a professional photographer, you are responsible for making sure you have permission to use that photo.
- Once photos are submitted, you grant LOVEPAWS the right to use them for print and marketing purposes. LOVEPAWS reserves the right to decline publication of any photograph for any reason. Should this occur, we will notify you and if an appropriate replacement cannot be obtained, refund your entry fee if desired.
LOVEPAWS was originally founded as a shelter intake prevention program in 2019 with a mission of keeping pets in homes and out of our local shelters through community outreach. At the core of our community outreach services is our pet pantry which feeds over 500 owned pets and community cats every month.
Our scope and mission quickly expanded to include pulling dogs and cats from local shelters, with a focus on the pit bull type dogs of Prince George’s County (PG pitties). This has allowed our organization to rescue and advocate for the most at-risk animals, the true underdogs (and undercats!) in our community.
LOVEPAWS is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (EIN: 83-3122611). We are an exclusively 100% unpaid volunteer-based, foster-based rescue with our foster network spanning MD, DC, and VA. Every dollar we raise goes directly towards the care of our animals and helps us keep saving lives!
