Pet's Story or Bio
Rescued in May of 2021 from a puppy mill situation. It appears she had spent most of her two years of age in a crate. She still spins in one direction when excited. She had no clue how to walk on a leash, preferring to flop down on her side and waiting until she was picked up and carried. She obviously had just finished nursing puppies when we got her.

An older lady who had Piper and the other 9 chihuahuas and three large dogs, died during the pandemic. Her husband wanted nothing to do with them, so he surrendered them to a shelter. Piper was adopted from the Houston shelter, but she was returned within a week being described as an "AWFUL DOG!!!" She was not given the support she needed to become a real family pet who sleeps in the bed and all the furniture. WE, on the other hand, rescue for life, not until we grow weary of their bad habits. Eventually, Aye Chihuahua Rescue got Piper and maybe a few other pups from this situation. We saw her photo on their site and knew she was meant to be our forever Piper. We took a two month RV trip within a week of her arrival. This photo is her backseat-driving somewhere along the Pennsylvania turnpike and just so happy to be helping!

She is now the most wonderful, good girl, sharing the house with Rosie, our earlier rescue from Aye Chihuahua Rescue.
