A little about me...We adopted Tucker from LHS in July, 2017. We were told he ‘might’ have ‘shaker dog syndrome’.
We adopted him, brought him home, put him in the grass to pee , but he could not even stand up. He had NO muscle strength. We took him to Dr Al Henry, who told us that Tucker has a neuromuscular disease that makes him unable to walk.
Tucker lets us know when he needs potty breaks outside, lying on his side to eliminate.
Tucker has his doctor here in Lynchburg and two neurologists in Winston-Salem and Matthews NC. He takes a prescription med every 8 hours each day, plus four vitamins. These help him to have enough strength to scoot around our home easier.
Tucker is a very happy boy. He has his own Radio Flyer wagon to go for at least two walks every day.
Tucker gets to watch the wildlife everyday: squirrels, deer, turkeys, foxes, bears.
He is very smart, alerting us of vehicles at our house or even approaching bears. He knows a lot of human words.
He lets us know when he is ready to go for his wagon rides in the neighborhood. He goes for car rides with his daddy to take trash and recycling to the recycle center each week
He gets along well with his doggie sister, Mallie, and his 8 cat siblings.
Tucker would LOVE the publicity of being the chosen LHS Calendar Pet.
Please vote for Tucker!!
