Hockey Magazine Cover Terms and Contest Rules

Welcome to Hudson Wren's Hockey Magazine Cover Contest.

We have chosen the portraits that will be featured in our Hockey Magazine and now is the time to help us select our featured cover. In doing so, we can raise additional funds for your team, U81C. 

Remember, the more votes you get for your portrait, the better the chances that they will win a spot or cover in our calendar contest.

U8C1 Magazine Cover Contest all net proceeds will be donated directly.


Voting will be available through a link on our website and social media platforms and provided to you in an email and or Text sent to the email address and phone number stated in your Registration Form.

You will be able to increase the chances of your portrait winning by encouraging your friends, family, co-workers to vote for your furry friend. Votes will be $1 donation per vote with a minimum of $5 per transaction and your friends and family may vote as often as they wish.

The voting portion of the contest will commence  noon (12:00 PM Pacific Time) on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 and go through to 9:59:59 PM (Pacific Time) on Wednesday, March 6, 2024.

All donations for the Voting Period are non-refundable. Voting transactions are made online through a secure site. A donation receipt will not be available as this is a third-party fundraiser.


To enter The Hockey Magazine Cover Contest with Hudson Wren, you must have registered and completed a portrait sitting at Hudson Wren Portraits before the Voting Period.


Those customers that participated in our Hockey Magazine Portrait Shoots event during 2023 and 2024.

Winners will be based on each photograph's votes during the Voting Period for each category ("Winner").

Should there be a tie and the closing date and time, the contest will be extended 1 hour. 

If there is a further tie for the 1st place Winner, Hudson Wren reserves the right to choose the Grand Prize Winner.

1st Place Prize includes:

Feature Cover Position in the Magazine.

2nd Place Prize includes:

Two-page middle spread in the Magazine

3rd Place Prize:

Back Cover Feature Position in the Magzine

The Winners will be announced in the last week of January 2024.   Winners will be notified by telephone, email and or text.

In the event of non-compliance with these Official Rules, or if a prize or prize notification is unclaimed, the prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate Winner.


By accepting a prize, the Winner consents to the use of his or her name, likeness, voice, biographical information and/or their Child’s portrait and biographical information for promotional and other purposes related to The Hockey Magazine Cover Contest or any future Contests by Hudson Wren Portraits without additional compensation.

The Winner, by acceptance of any prize, acknowledges compliance with these Rules and agrees to release Hudson Wren Portraits and officers, directors, employees, independent contractors, representatives, and agents ("Releasees") from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in Hockey Magazine Cover Contest or the receipt, redemption, or use of any prize, including any injuries or damages of any kind sustained in connection with the use, acceptance, possession, or awarding of any prize.

By entering The Hockey Magazine Cover Contest, you agree to grant Hudson Wren Portraits, their legal representatives, successors and assigns the nonexclusive right and permission to use, modify, adapt, reproduce, publish, and distribute your entry, or any portion thereof, including your child’s portrait, throughout the world, in any printed form and by any kind of mechanical or electronic or any other method or device of reproduction, publication, and distribution known or later developed, during the entire term of the copyright, and without notification or payment. Should you wish to remove your entry or photograph from the contest, please contact Hudson Wren by email info@hudsonwren.com

Hudson Wren Portraits agrees that they will never sell your entry or rights in your entry to any individual or entity.


You understand and agree that Hudson Wren will not be liable to you for any injuries sustained by you or your child during your photography sitting.

If, for any reason, The Hockey Magazine Cover Contest is not capable of running as planned for any reason including infection by computer viruses, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, actions of entrants, technical failures, or any other causes corrupt or infect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the 2024 Cover Contest Hudson Wren reserves the right at their sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the 2024 Hockey Magazine Cover Contest.


By entering this contest, you agree to certain legal conditions stated in this document as already stated above and further clarified below.

References to "EF" shall include: Hudson Wren, and their affiliates, and officers, directors, employees, independent contractors, representatives, and agents ("Releasees")

By entering, participants agree to protect, indemnify, defend and hold harmless EF, its respective subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees, attorneys, and agents from any and all third party liability for any and all liabilities and expenses (including without limitation, fees of attorneys, investigators and experts) injuries, loss, claim, action, demand, or damage of any kind which may be asserted against, imposed upon or incurred from or in connection with the competition (collectively, "Losses"), including without limitation any third party claim for copyright infringement or a violation of an individual's right to privacy and/or publicity right. The Contest is void where prohibited by law.

Each entrant in the Contest ("Entrant") is responsible for ensuring that he or she has the right to submit the photos submitted to the Contest per these rules.

You, as Entrant or site user/visitor, agree that any disputes that cannot be resolved with EF and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest shall be resolved individually, without resorting to any form of class action, before a court of competent jurisdiction located in Victoria Canada, which court shall apply the laws of British Columbia without regard for rules of conflicts of law. IN ANY SUCH DISPUTE, THE PARTICIPANT SHALL NOT BE ENTITLED TO ANY PUNITIVE, SPECIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ATTORNEYS' FEES OR ANY DAMAGES OTHER THAN THE PARTICIPANT'S ACTUAL OUT-OF-POCKET EXPENSES (IF ANY) ASSOCIATED WITH PARTICIPATING IN THE CONTEST. YOU SPECIFICALLY AGREE THAT THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF ANY MONIES AWARDED TO YOU CAN NOT EXCEED THE ENTRY FEE(s) OR VOTING FEE(s) PAID BY YOU. YOU HEREBY WAIVE ANY RIGHTS TO HAVE DAMAGES MULTIPLIED OR INCREASED. The Contest and EF's website are provided "as is" without warranty, either express or implied. EF is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by website users by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the photo competition or by any technical or human error that may occur in the processing of submissions to the photo competition, including but not limited to any misprints or typographical errors. EF assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alteration of entries.

EF is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any communication network or lines, computer equipment, servers, providers, computer on-line systems, software, or failure of email on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, including injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participating or uploading images or information in the photo contest.
