Mochi came to me through a private foster, who was helping to find him a fur-ever home for this hunter-bread pup. I had recently lost my 6 year old "soul pup" (an MHS alum) Simon Maka, to a neuro disorder. Completely heartbroken, and dealing with the huge loss during early days of COVID, I was hoping to find a new baby to love and to heal. Searching daily without luck, I was feeling like I might not find my new baby. So, I decided to let it all go. A couple of days later, a friend saw a FB shared post about Mochi (then Ziggy). She immediately connected me to the foster mom. With cautious optimism, I made a date to meet him. Wanting to be as sure as I could, I asked for input from a couple of friends who are knowledgable on breed behaviors to gauge a good fit for both him and me. Once I met and spent some time with this 10 week old angel, I decided to adopt. 11 months later, he is the sweetest, most fun, loving (and tallest) baby! I know that Simon has handed over the torch!
