Rules

Contest Entry
  • The minimum donation for submitting a photo for the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society’s Cutest Pets Calendar Contest is $25 per photo entry. As long as photo requirements are met (see below), your photo’s placement in the calendar is guaranteed. This also includes a copy of the calendar/planner, which will be mailed to you.
  • Entries are limited to one photo per entry fee and must be submitted online. You may submit as many entries as you like.
  • Once entered, all photos become the property of the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society and can be used, edited, or modified for print or marketing purposes. Note: Winning photos will be “enhanced” to reflect this year’s outer space theme!
  • Any photo or caption deemed inappropriate by MHHS staff will be eliminated from the contest.
  • Online entries must be received by Sunday, September 15, 2019, 9:00:00 PM EST. Sorry, we cannot accept hard copies.
  • All eligible photos will be included in the 2020 calendar.
ELIGIBLE PHOTOGRAPHS
  • Your pet does not have to be adopted from MHHS to be eligible to enter.
  • Photographs must either feature pets owned by the entrant OR the entrant must have permission from the pet's owner to submit their pet's image.
  • Acceptable photo formats are JPEG and PNG.
  • Photos may contain one or more pets.
  • Feel free to dress your pet in an outer space-themed costume. (Not required.)
  • Photos may not be edited or altered (other than for minor quality adjustment).
Photos must:
  • Be at least 8.5” x 11” and 300 dpi in order to minimize photo distortion online and in the printed calendar.
  • Be in color
  • Contain only pets (no people)

Please choose a photo with the highest resolution possible.

Contest Voting
  • Each dollar donated to a pet's campaign represents one vote.
  • Due to processing costs, a minimum $5 donation is required.
  • All donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
  • All donations to the photo contest are final.
  • All votes must be applied to selected photos by the conclusion of the voting period to be counted.
  • An email address is required to make an online donation so a receipt with tax information can be sent to the donor.
Contest Deadlines
  • Entries and votes must be submitted by Sunday, September 15, 2019, 9:00:00 PM EST.
  • All contest entries that meet photo criteria will be included in the 2020 Cutest Pets Calendar.
  • The ten (10) entries with the most votes received by the deadline will receive pet-of-the-month features and additional prizes. 
Contest Winners
  • Prize announcements will be revealed on the contest homepage within one week of the contest end date.
  • The remaining two (2) pet-of the-month features will be chosen by MHHS staff.
