Pet's Story or Bio
Chuckie’s veterinarian mom was helping the Refuge with a large transport of dogs from the south. They were mostly puppies and there was a long line of new foster parents waiting to take their pups home. Towards the end of the day there were still a handful of adult dogs still waiting for their fosters. Sight unseen she said, “I’ll foster the one in that carrier. He’s little and has been so patient and quiet all day!” When she took him out it was pretty much love at first sight! The underbite, the snaggleteeth, his broken crooked tail, coupled with the beautiful brindle coat, short legs, and antennae ears made him the perfect match for her! She came up with his own breed: “Chunkweenie” aka CHihuahua+pUg+freNchie+jacKrussel+mini dachshund (she has no actual proof of his lineage, but he certainly has traits of all of them!). Chuckie is her best friend and travel buddy. They recently moved to St. Croix, USVI and Chuckie settled right into his new island dog life! He comes to work with her everyday and his cuteness quickly wins over everyone he meets!
