My dog is the coolest because...
Murphy is what we like to call a Cur-huahua Cock-hound Terrier, aka the ultimate mutt. He is a 12/10 at all times and he is always ready to party. He has springs for legs, a tornado personality, zero concept of personal space, an overly optimistic outlook, keen hunting instincts, and he is aggressively loving to every person he meets.

This good boy was found as a stray in Alabama with his brother; once rescued, they were named Biscuits (now Rocky) and Gravy (now Murphy). After some time in a foster home, they hopped aboard a transport van bound for Green Bay with Misfit Mutts Dog Rescue to another foster family. Murphy’s mom and dad fell in love with him at first Facebook sight but it wasn’t meant to be - Murphy went home with a family who simply couldn’t appreciate his perfect mix of anxiety and hyperactivity, so he was returned to the rescue to yet another foster family. Then came COVID - we were all stuck at home, and rescue dogs were no different. After a few months getting comfortable with his foster family, Murphy’s parents got the email they had been waiting for - they were approved for a dog and the rescue thought Murphy would be the perfect fit! So Murphy went to yet another home, this time his forever home. To say Murphy had baggage was an understatement, but he has spent much of his young life working to be the best boy he can be and his parents love him just the way he is.

Even though his early years threw him a lot of lemons and would’ve driven any sane individual into years of intense therapy for trust issues, Murphy has never lost his zest for life and his glass-half-full mentality. His perfect day consists of a few hundred laps around his yard chasing rabbits at breakneck speed followed by a blueberry pigs ear, a nap in the sun with his humans, a good booty scratch, and some whipped cream to take the edge off - he really is just a simple southern boy at heart.

Everybody who meets Murphy knows he is a one-of-a-kind dog with a big personality and human-like empathy and emotions. He is not perfect, no dog is, but he is unapologetically himself and he loves everybody just the way they are. There will never be another Murphy Duke Wied, so to see him immortalized on a beer can would be the perfect tribute to the bestest boy. Murphy’s parents would also buy every single beer can with his face on it because, yes, they are those dog parents.
