Pet's Story
I survived my first seven months on my own (details unknown!), but everything changed when my human walked into the shelter. She says the second she saw me, she knew I was coming home. I like to think it was my smile… or maybe my incredibly good-looking ears.

Since then, I’ve been very busy making up for lost time.

I’m goofy, endlessly curious, and firmly believe every tennis ball deserves my undivided attention. If TailGate made a tennis-ball-flavored beer, I’d be first in line. When I’m not carrying a ball, I’m keeping my cat sister Luna on her toes. She calls me a menace. I prefer “enthusiastic brother.”

In just a few months, I’ve filled my home with laughter, chaos, and more joy than I could have imagined. That’s the magic of rescue dogs—we don’t just find homes, we become family. If my goofy face lands on a TailGate beer can, it will help the Nashville Humane Association give more animals the same second chance I got: finding the person who looks at them and knows, “That’s my dog.”

Pet's Quirks
-Higgins’ favorite hobby (besides balls, obviously) is keeping his cat sister, Luna “entertained.” Luna calls it being chased. Higgins calls it quality sibling bonding.
-Will choose a ball over basically anything (food? maybe. Sleep? absolutely not. A ball wins.)
-Has zero concept of personal space — affection must be delivered at maximum volume.
Lives life at 110% — no casual walks, only adventures.
-The happiest little weirdo — goofy expressions, random bursts of energy, and endless curiosity.
-Somehow always looks proud of himself even when he’s clearly causing chaos.
-A loyal shadow — always wants to know what his people are doing and why he isn’t involved.
