Pet's Story
Kumquat is an 80-pound, 4½-year-old rescue who was originally pulled from MACC by Wags & Walks Nashville after spending almost a year waiting for a home. While I don't know much about her life before the shelter, I believe she was a stray.
I first met Kumquat while fostering her for a long weekend. During those three days, we even ended up at the emergency vet after she went into anaphylactic shock for an unknown reason. Even after giving her back to her foster family, I thought about her every day.
A month later, I found out her foster was moving out of state, and despite being such an amazing dog, Kumquat still hadn't received a single adoption inquiry. I took it as a sign to foster her again. The moment I picked her up, I knew there was no way I could ever give her back.
I officially adopted Kumquat from Wags & Walks Nashville in April 2026, and she's been living her best life ever since. These days, she spends her time going on car rides, soaking up the sun, making new friends everywhere she goes, and showing everyone just how sweet bully breeds really are. She even has her own Instagram and TikTok, where we share her adventures and help spread awareness about rescue dogs and bully breeds in hopes of inspiring more people to adopt.


Pet's Quirks
Kumquat is an 80 lb lap dog who truly believes she belongs wherever her people are. She is the biggest snuggle bug, loves to smush herself between two people, and will happily take over the entire couch while sleeping upside down. She also snores like a trucker, makes the funniest little pig snorts when she’s sniffing, and even purrs when she’s happy.

Her favorite toy is her Good Boy Vodka Iced Tea Lemonade plush, and she gets the biggest zoomies when she grabs her giant cheetah Lammy. She is obsessed with car rides, sunbathing, watermelon, and of course, her favorite activity is hanging out on a patio. One of her funniest habits is rolling onto her back, wiggling around, and chomping like an alligator.
