Pet's Story
Meet Porter, an ancient lab/mutt mix who started life on the streets of Palm Springs. He was named after the first craft beer his mom ever loved, from a brewery in San Diego, around the same time that TailGate was just starting to make a name for itself.

Porter has done it all. He’s beaten cancer, chased off burglars, enforced a strict “always greet guests with a toy in your mouth” policy and earned a legendary reputation for breath capable of clearing an entire room. He runs on clockwork: meals, meds, treats. If you’re behind schedule, he’ll be the first to let you know.

For the last 15 years, Porter has been a loyal protector, a constant source of laughter and the very best kind of best friend. A beer label feels like the perfect place for this distinguished gentleman to keep making people smile.

Pet's Quirks
Despite being the self-appointed head of security for East Nashville (bitten burglar to back it up), tough guy Porter firmly believes bow ties aren’t just an accessory, they’re a personality. It’s impossible to explain, but he’s sweeter to other pups the moment he puts one on.

While Porter didn’t come from Nashville Humane Association; his sister, Presley did. She’s made his world brighter, fuller, and occasionally cozier. Donating to NHA is the perfect way to celebrate love built from rescuing .

At 15 years old, Porter is soaking up every moment he has left with the people who adore him. As this chapter comes to a close, seeing his face on a TailGate beer can would be the perfect legacy for a dog who spent a lifetime protecting his family, making people laugh, and reminding us the best nights, memories and sometimes pups often start with a beer.
