Nominee's story
Emily Allen of Tailor Mayde Photography has been an incredible friend of Niagara County SPCA, first by offering her time and talents to photograph shelter dogs to help them get adopted on many occasions, then by sponsoring a cage and offering to do photography for their entire 2020 calendar free of charge. During Christmastime, Emily asked her clients to donate a bag of dog food for Niagara County SPCA and they would get a discount off of their photography session. Emily was able to collect 500 pounds of dog food to help the shelter pups from her first dog food drive and she says it definitely won't be the last!

There’s nothing the SPCA has asked for assistance with that Emily has said no to, including being interviewed for promotional videos, photographing the groundbreaking of their new surgical suite and offering to also do their 2021 calendar. Emily loves the shelter animals so much and whenever she is called upon to volunteer her time and talents, her answer is “you know I’m always here to help.”

During quarantine, Emily also became a foster mom for Awesome Paws Rescue and she’s enjoyed the experience of finding orphaned puppies their forever homes very much. Emily doesn’t need to go above and beyond to help, but she does out of the kindness of her heart because photography and helping animals is her passion. That’s why Emily should be named “Shelter Advocate of the Year.”
