Nominee's story
Cheryl Pirinelli, office manager at Hanna Podiatry in Lockport, has always been an animal lover, so when she saw that Niagara County SPCA was in need of sponsors for the Sponsor A Cage program, she immediately asked her boss and coworkers to help the animals.

Cheryl came to the shelter whenever she could to take a photo with the homeless animals and was very passionate about finding their sponsored dog a forever home. She even went a step further by asking how they could also help fundraise for the SPCA. She came up with an amazing idea to have Hanna Podiatry sell paw print hearts at their office with all proceeds going to the SPCA!

When the SPCA was in need of sponsors for their annual Mardi Paws event, Hanna Podiatry offered to help right away to ensure the event was a success. Cheryl is always willing to lend a helping hand whenever she is asked by the SPCA and that is why Cheryl deserves to be recognized as "Shelter Animal Advocate of the Year!"
