My NICU Graduate's Journey
Ally was born 5 weeks early. Her lungs were not developed and she had severe jaundice. When she was delivered the doctor said it was a miracle that she was delivered when she was. The doctor said my uterus was paper thin, and she and I would've both died if they had waited even until that afternoon. She spent 4 days in the NICU, and although she struggled as a toddler into kindergarten, she is thriving now at the top of her class.

What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?
Ally had a speech impediment when she was real young. Thankfully she overcame that, but has had other struggles in her 17 years of life. Ally is the section leader of her band's drumline, a dual enrollment student, and has had 2 jobs through her senior year. She was recommended and selected to be an intern at our church and plans to major in psychology with a focus on childhood trauma. Her whole life has been a testament to God's faithfulness.
