My NICU Graduate's Journey
One year ago, on May 7th, we brought our tiny miracle home after 51 long, emotional days in the NICU. Kross was born 10 weeks early via emergency c-section due to preeclampsia. He weighed just over 3 pounds—our precious micro preemie. Those first days were filled with uncertainty and fear, but also awe at his strength. We watched him fight through every breath, every feeding, every milestone, hooked up to wires and monitors, yet never letting go of his fierce will to live. The NICU became our second home. We learned what every beep meant, how to read monitors, and how to hold hope in the middle of exhaustion. We celebrated every ounce gained, every tube removed, every day closer to coming home. And finally—graduation day. We walked out of those hospital doors with full hearts and our baby in our arms. Now, almost a year later, Kross is thriving. He’s strong, joyful, and full of life. You’d never guess how small he once was, or how hard he had to fight just to be here. Happy (almost) NICU Graduation Day, sweet boy. You’ve already shown us what it means to be brave—and we’ll never stop celebrating you.

What makes you proud of you NICU graduate?
Through every test, setback, and challenge in the NICU, Kross pushed forward with incredible strength. Against all odds, he came home completely free of medications, cords, tubes—and off oxygen. Our little warrior didn’t just survive; he thrived.
