Cat or kitten's story or bio
We adopted Ginger from Nine Lives while volunteering at the old shelter. She was two years old and life had been tough. She had been a mama to a litter of five kittens. Shortly after arriving at Nine Lives from Los Banos, she was adopted, but that fell through. Then she was adopted again and brought back four months later! All her teeth, except the two bottom fangs, had been removed due to disease. On top of all this, she had a rough start with our cat, Sofie, also adopted from Nine Lives. But we gave her all the time and patience to settle in. And she did so, beautifully. She purrs on contact, but she's not a cuddly cat, preferring to lie next to you at arm's length. Precisely at 8:00 p.m., she reminds me it's time to eat and then play. She quietly wanders the house at night. If I get up to use the bathroom anytime during the night, she runs in to get a good scratch! Being an indoor cat, she can't bring us gifts from the outdoors. So she walks her three favorite wand toys, one by one, down the hallway to my husband in his office, then leaves them, perfectly aligned, in the doorway.
