Barsik was born to a feral mom in my daughter's back yard along with 5 of his calico sisters (July 5, 2016). The kittens were rescued by Nine Lives foundation when they were just 5 days old, their mom was spayed and released back into the colony. Tragically, only 2 kittens from the litter survived to be 3 weeks old (possibly due to inbreeding), at which point they were in foster care along with Jelly Belly. Barsik and his sister Basya Reese's Pieces were adopted together with Jelly by my daughter. Sadly, our poor sweet Basya didn't make it to her first birthday and Barsik is the last survivor from his litter. Thank you Nine Lives for spaying their feral mom "Tuki" to prevent such tragedy from happening again. Barsik is very healthy and strong 15.5 pound spoiled handsome boy. He enjoys playing with his step-siblings Jelly and Billy.
