Zach and Juno were adopted from Nine Lives Shelter in June 2009. They were a bonded pair at the shelter and so they stayed together in our home; since they had been feral for a time before being picked up, they did not make any mewing sounds for many months ( this was learned in the wild so they would not be detected by predators). Eight years later they are healthy, happy, vocal and totally in charge indoor residents of our household. Zach, half Siamese, has gorgeous blue eyes and is the most affectionate cat we have ever known. Juno is the brains of the outfit and can read my mind. This is no joke. She also loves to play fetch with balls and likes to lie on her back like a sea otter.
