Zipper was rescued at two days old. She was born in a chicken coop on property in Briones that I used to lease. Mom had abandoned Zipper. I waited for several hours to see if the mother would come back and when she didn't, I got a box and took Zipper out of the chicken coop, and brought her inside. She was fed by an eyedropper, had a warm bed, and lots of love. Today, she is 15 years young and going strong.
